* » or else you might just go U N D E R -------------------- Left, right, left, right. Breath in, breath out. Thump, thump, thump, thump. Parker's head was pounding. The street was crowded with people, all shoving past each other. All trying to get where they were going, without even thinking that maybe the people around them also had places to be, equally important. Where Parker was going, was not important. He wasn't even sure as to where he was going. He was just...going. He'd set out from his trailer this morning and headed straight downtown. Things usually came to him while he was downtown. Either fights or drug deals, whatever. It was his way of life.
Parker's appearance was rather intimidating. With his baggy jeans, gray jacket, blue bandanna, messy hair, he looked like the criminal he was. As he pounded down the pavement, people generally got out of his way. At 6'1 and 200 pounds, you didn't mess with Parker. On top of all that, his eyes spoke of deep hate and anger. But for such a savage, he was doing something fairly civil this morning. Parker never stopped for anything such as coffee or bagels, but for some reason he found himself doing just that. He stepped inside of a crowded Starbucks and got in line for a plain black coffee and bagel. He had about $10 in his pocket from his last job, and he figured that would cover it.

[/color] his morning had started out like any other. Getting up from the stupid alarm clock, and avoiding her siblings that still lived at home. The best part was that she didn't really need to worry about much, since today was free. Except to take Luis to his basketball practice tonight, but otherwise, what could be done? Out on the streets, shifting her black purse from one arm to another, the petite-framed teen, no older than 20 headed down the street, sliding through hordes of people if she could manage to weasel her way through. It seemed they all had appointments they couldn't break, that they had to keep or else. So confusing, yet it was their choice. Their choice to do that, and to ignore the simple beauties around them. Course, her mother just claimed she tended to be a bit too observant. What was wrong with that?S[/color] he turned into a coffee shop, having debated whether or not to actually buy some this morning. She was in a rare mood. Entering just before another person, a quite tall male, she quickly dropped her Puerto Rican accent, blue-grey eyes fixated on the line in front of them. Pausing, she glanced behind her, as if checking the tmie, and almost stumbled. All right, she had a thing for the bad boys, but who didn't? Suddenly remembering how to breathe, and without looking like a gasping fish, the girl turned back around, wide-eyed at herself, unable to debate what to do. Then, another teen pushed past her, she lost her balance, and went stumbling backwards into the taller male behind her. Quickly regathering herself, she spoke, "I'm sorry!" as the lights above flickered.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

* » or else you might just go U N D E R -------------------- Parker had this certain way he always stood. He'd push his hands deep into his pockets, spread his legs a good ways apart, tilt his head slightly back, and stare straight ahead at nothing in particular. The whole look basically said 'fuck off'. And that's exactly what he wanted to portray. He wouldn't put up with any bullshit, and he wanted to make sure everyone around him knew it. Parker was standing in just this way when he noticed movement in front of him. His steel gray eyes flickered down to see what was up. He saw this little girl, maybe his own age, staring at him with this stupid look on her face. Before any real eye contact could be made, she had turned back around. Parker smirked and went back to staring at nothing.
But this little girl apparently wasn't done with him. A few minutes later, he felt someone fall into him. He took a step back as his jaw clenched. Little things like this tended to just piss him off like none other. Parker looked down at her, anger showing in his eyes. Her little I'm sorry! sounded so small and pathetic. Parker could easily crush her with one hand while standing right here. But that would cause too much of a disturbance. Instead, he just stood there, staring at her with his jaw clenched and hard eyes. He found that silence intimidated people more so than harsh words. This girl had just accidentally messed with Parker Detwiler. She didn't deserve to be picked on by him, but Parker didn't care. He needed someone to take his anger out on, and she was small and weak in his eyes, so this is what she got.

[/color] er eyes locked ahead, scanning the menu, before getting out the gift card she still had left over. Frowning lightly, she debated whether or not to buy something for her mother. Nah. She could just finish it before she got home. The 5'7" teen shifted anxiously, looking back to the guy she'd accidentally gotten bumped into. Ok, she could be a bit of a klutz, but don't take it out on her! Scowling back at him, she could fight if it came down to it, as the lights above flickered, some people looking up, before her temper eased, realizing what was happening. Eyes looked up to his, locking with his steely colores ones. All right, he was handsome, but a real jerk. Her own jaw clenched, and she suddenly demanded without thinking, "I'm sorry, as in did I offend you, oh might prince?"S[/color] he arched an eyebrow, as if daring him to do something. He'd most likely get a laugh out of her. Oh, but she'd be the last one laughing. Raising both her eyebrows, Adrian then added, her features painted with sarcasm. Adrian then turned back around, huffing, as the line moved slightly, eyes darkening to pitch black, which they tended to do when she got ticked, and her powers began to manifest. Quickly snapping out of it, he wasn't worth it. Was he?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

* » or else you might just go U N D E R -------------------- Parker had pretty much totally forgotten about the world around him. He was now focused on how mad he was. This was getting to be a major problem for him. He'd be perfectly fine, then something stupid would happen, and he'd be unspeakably angry all in one instant. It was ridiculous, really. No one should get that angry that fast. But to make it worse, that little girl turned around and attempted at a retaliation. Bad move, hunny. She apparently thought he was just some piece of street scum that was all bark and no bite. What she didn't understand was that he would take her down, regardless of the fact that she was a helpless female. He had no conscience.
"I'm sorry, as in did I offend you, oh might prince?" Parker wanted to laugh. Oh, she was so tough. But he didn't move, just stood there staring at her. After a few seconds of silence, he replied, "Ha, fuck off. Or we could take it outside, if you'd rather." Parker was practically hopping for a fight by now. Fighting was an addiction for him. Like any pothead, he had to have his fix every day. But a tiny little impish girl probably wasn't worth his while. Now that she saw he wasn't just some poseur, she'd probably back off. They always did.

[/color] ocking her attention elsewhere, silently fuming, practically feeling the steam coming out of her ears. Running a hand through her dark locks, she calmed herself, as the lights above them stopped flickering, and the people went back to their daily lives. What in the hell gave him the right to judge her? He didn't even know her! Grinding her teeth together to keep from saying anything, she snapped back to reality when he spoke. A scowl flickered across her features, and she turned around fully now, and jabbed him with a finger, adding some wind behind it, to hopefully knock him back a bit, at least make him stumble, "Don't you tell me to fuck off." she snapped, eyes locking onto his and not letting the connection break.A[/color] drian arched an eyebrow at his fight invitation. Yeah, like she'd have a chance against him. Course, she highly doubted he had any abilities, unlike her, she was cursed. Her hands clenched, her entire body went rigid, then she hissed, "I'd rather not, I have a thing with fighting against arrogant asses." She rolled her eyes, before raising both brows, as if daring him to throw the first punch, her telekinesis starting to form a 6-inch barirer around her body already. "Besides, sir, I don't think you'd win." There, toy with his ego.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

* » or else you might just go U N D E R -------------------- When the girl poked her finger into his chest, Parker didn't flinch. Wow, someone thought they were tough. He had to give her credit though, most people wouldn't come back at him like that. Surely she could see that she'd have no chance against him. He'd take her out in one blow. She probably weighed a hundred pounds less than he did. But something was weird about her. As he stared into her eyes, something different was there. But he couldn't determine exactly what that thing was.
The tension between the two was piratically palpable. It was amazing how so much hate could build between two complete strangers so quickly. Parker could feel her daring him to make the first move. But he wasn't an idiot. Throwing a punch in the middle of a Starbucks wouldn't land him anywhere but jail. And he wasn't interested in any more jail-time. "Besides, sir, I don't think you'd win." Her little comment about him being an arrogant ass didn't bother him, but that did. His jaw clenched and his eyebrows arched, "Would you be willing to bet on that? Cuz there's an alley right outside that I could easily hide your dead body in." Of course he wouldn't kill her, that would be ridiculous. But a little dramatic effect never hurt anyone.

[/color] his wasn't going to end well, and it had been a decent morning till now. Fuming, as if someone would try and bake an egg on her head, she felt like it would. Ok, she'd admit he was cute, but his ego needed to be knocked down a couple of notches. And obviously no one else would do it to this 6'1" guy, so it might as well as be her. At his response with his own arched brow, she smirked, and spoke, her voice softer, though just as devious, if not more, "My bottom dollar." she smirked, then left the line, slinking between people, before she then turned back, and arched an eyebrow, as if to say, 'what's-it-going-to-be?' before heading outside. Personally, she wouldn't feel right using her training to her advantage, but then again, why not?O[/color][/size] h, she could think of plenty of reasons why not to. But that would take too much time. Course, his threat about her dead body didn't rub her the wrong way - too much. Good, she wanted to die. End this pathetic thing she dared to call life. End the running, the chases, the fear of being found, maybe by the barcode on the back of her neck, who knows? Blue-grey eyes darkened, before she dropped her purse on a moderately clean dumpster, and spoke, when he appeared, "C'mon, I gotta at least know my big bad killer's name." she smirked, then lifted her head lightly, one hand on her belt, which resided at her curvy hips, "Adrian." she simply stated, smirking towards him playfully. "Let me guess...the cops know you?" Yes, she did feel bad, because there was something definitely going on between her and him..but, what?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"My bottom dollar." Parker could hardly believe she was serious. Either she was delusional or she really did have a chance against him. But he doubted her tiny frame held any hidden strengths. His mouth opened with a reply, but she cut him off by walking out the door. If Parker used his brain, he wouldn't follow her and just let this ridiculous fight fizzle out. But Parker's brain wasn't much for reasoning these days. Once she was out the door, he thought for a moment, then turned and headed out of the store. Hopefully no one would get curious and follow him out as well. Things could get ugly.
One hand gripping his back pack strap until his knuckles were white, one hand swinging by his side, Parker strolled into the alleyway and found the girl waiting for him. He stopped in front of her and just stared into her eyes. By the look he saw there, he could see that this little girl was just playing games. She just wanted to mess with his head for awhile. She didn't understand that this little game would end with her in a bloody heap. The words she spoke next, only proved these thoughts to him. Of course her name was Adrian. It fit her feisty little bitch personality perfectly. And of course she wanted to know his name. "Priest." His street name. Parker was never known by his real name anymore. He'd earned the name Priest years ago because he was so careful and cautious when he first started out in the streets. But those days were long gone. He was still careful to cover his tracks, but much braver these days.
There was something almost flirty about Adrian's whole demeanor. Parker didn't like it. It disgusted him and made him want to hurt her even more. "Well aren't you oh so clever? Now let me guess...you think that I'm just some stuck-up ass with the biggest ego ever and you have taken it upon yourself to straighten me out and knock me down?" As Parker spoke, he got closer and closer to her face, until he was practically just a couple of inches from her, his voice becoming more and more quiet and menacing. He now spread his arms out and took a few slow steps backwards, keeping his eyes on Adrian's. "Knock yourself out, cupcake." He stood there, arms spread apart, daring Adrian to take a go at him. [/color] n amused look filtered across features, as eyes darkened to midnight black, much like her hair, even the whites of her eyes going black as the power seeped through her entire frame, before the ass appeared. Keeping herself poised, she raised her chin slightly, then arched an eyebrow expectantly at her. Priest. He gave her his name like a grenade. Unfortunately, was he lying? It felt like it, her gut was telling her. Too bad the government didn't lace in telepathy with her telekinesis. Did they? She obviously didn't know till she got a bit older. Pursing her lips lightly in thought, she stopped herself as he approached her. Adrian laughed lightly at the comment, and spoke, "No, you're half right. I just wanted to see you'd actually fight me." she threw a devious smirk towards him, before dropping her hand from her hip when he came towards her. An emitting wave immediately formed a protective shell around her body, though it dropped when he didn't seem to do anything.Bewilderment flickered in her eyes that had returned to normal when he approached. Arching a brow as he backed off, only a couple feet from her, having felt his body heat from how close they'd been, she growled at the little nickname he'd given her. Cupcake? What the hell? Tense, Adrian smirked, before quickly glancing away and around, and then threw up her right fist, and as she did, it was coated with air, before she hurled it at him, the burst of air probably only knocking him back a couple of feet, but he'd still be standing. She dropped her arm, leering at him, eyes turning black, she'd thrown no punch, but yet he'd been it by something. Blowing some bangs out of her face, Adrian snarled, "Back off, Priest, and don't go near little boys." Course she knew the truth about them, but it was still amusing, as she turned, keeping an ear out, heading out the opposite mouth of the alley. Though, she still wasn't quite finished yet.notes , aww..can we be friends still? lol[/blockquote][/blockquote]

As Parker stood there staring at her, he thought she wasn't going to do anything. The look on her face seem to be confused, like she was rethinking this. She had really thought that he wasn't going to take her up on her offer. But he wasn't all bark and no bite. He was plenty of bite. Adrian then pulled her fist back, like she was actually going to take a shot at him. Parker didn't move, just smirked down at her, daring her to carry through. Her fist moved forward, and instead of a punch, a gust of air slammed against him, sending him a few steps backwards. He dropped his arms to his sides and kept his glare steady on her. Something wasn't right here.
As Adrian walked away, Parker just stood there watching her. Maybe that little burst of air he'd felt had just been a weird coincidence or his imagination. He couldn't remember now if it even happened. Maybe he had imagined it all. That had to be it. His smirk took it's place up on his face again. Of course she was leaving now. She wasn't brave enough to stick around to take what he might dish back to her. His voice was taunting,"That's what I thought. See you around, Adrian." This girl was just what he thought she was. Full of it. [/blockquote]

[/color] he urge to finish this fight was overwhelming. A surge of power flowed through her, as the earth and rocks beneath this began to shift. Suddenly, a whimper escaped her lips, before suddenly, an earthquake shattered the peace and quiet - outside the alley anyway. People screamed, as her eyes swirled to pitch black, even the whites of her eyes, so it was all black. Looking back to Priest as he spoke, a growl in words snarled, "Watch your back." she then whirled around, and flung up her leg, sending a wave of dust towards him, causing it to create a fog-like setting inside the alley. Fuming, her adrenaline pumping, which wasn't good. She didn't want to hurt him. Fighting the urge to kill, Adrian whirled on the wall, baring her teeth in the pain she was about to cause herself. She then punched the brick wall, causing her knuckles to most likely shatter.A[/color][/size] yelp of pain escaped her ilps, before she dropped to the ground, about 20 feet from Priest, she stomped lightly, the dust dropped, revealing her on the ground, craddling her right hand, thankful she was a left-handed person, and him most likely still there. Looking up to him, eyes still pitch black, she leered, then stood up, holding her bloody knuckled hand close to her chest, as the blackness of her eyes began to fade, revealing first the whites of her eyes, then her irises. He'd get what he wanted, but - what did he want? It was all so confusing. Throwing him a look, she demanded, "What do you want?"[/blockquote][/blockquote]

What happened around him in the next minute was so confusing to Parker, his mind started to go into overload. Things started happening around him, an earthquake, a dust storm, natural hazards. But they seemed to be caused by Adrian. That was impossible. Surely she couldn't control the weather. That would be supernatural. As the cloud of dust enshrouded him, Parker fell to his knees coughing. The dust in the air he was trying to breath was so thick that it clogged his lungs. He closed his eyes and focused on trying to breath.
When the earthquake stopped and the cloud of dust settled, Parker stood up and leaned on the brick wall, clutching his chest and gasping. His heart was racing and his lungs trying to find air. When he finally got some oxygen, he looked over towards Adrian. Her hand was all bloody and she looked angry and hurt. This was so wrong. Something definitely wasn't right with this girl. "What do you want?" Parker just stared into her terrifying eyes and shook his head "Nothing to do with you." He wasn't interested in getting mixed up in anything weird. So he turned away from her and exited the alleyway, walking out into the chaos on the street. People were still confused as to why an earthquake had randomly happened. Parker headed down the street, thinking of maybe just going home. This whole thing was creeping him out, and that didn't happen very often. [/blockquote]

[/color] drian's eyes betrayed her, as she craddled her slightly bloody knuckles. What the hell was wrong with her? Why was she acting like this? All the emotions she'd absorbed in the labs were playing with her. A whimper escaped her lips, before she then looked up to Priest, having taken about five steps towards him, afraid for his well-being. With his words, her heart clenched, and she immediately took off, worry creasing her forehead, as her temper died - for the rest of the day. Coming up by him, ready for a swing, a pure look of worry on her features, she spoke, sounding like a child, "Please...don't tell....Priest." she practically begged of him. If they found out about him, he'd also be killed.I[/color] f this, and if that. The big word, but it was most likely too. Swallowing, she eyed him, waiting for a punch, while she craddled her broken knuckles. "Look...Priest...what can I do to know you won't tell anyone?" she wouldn't give up on him. No way. She hadn't given up on anyone before, and she wasn't about to begin. Especially not with him. Eying him curiously, eyes locked onto his own dark ones, she swallowed anxiously, having a bit of difficulty keeping up because he was taller than the 5'9.5" girl, but still, she wasn't giving up, especially not when he could be killed.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

* » or else you might just go U N D E R -------------------- Parker was just going to get out of here as fast as he could. He didn't want to think about this ever again, just go on living his life. If Adrian had just caused all that chaos, then she was part of something bigger than Parker could or wanted to understand. He knew when to just back off, that's what had allowed him to survive the streets all these years in the first place. As he walked down the street, people around him were asking each other what the hell had just happened. The air was thick with confusion. This earthquake was going to be difficult to explain.
Just when he thought he'd gotten rid of her, Adrian came running after Parker. He kept walking and barely gave her a glance while she pleaded with him. He just scoffed at her plea, "Tell? Why would I tell? What is there to tell? No no one would believe me if I told them that you just caused that earthquake anyways. I'm not even sure if that's what happened. I don't want to be caught up with you in any way. As far as I'm concerned, I've never seen you before." This is why Parker preferred to never have to deal with girls. They were dramatic and attention whores. He walked quickly on, trying to ditch Adrian again.
